Getting Started
With ERLEADA

Beginning Your Treatment

(Erin):

Hi, I'm Erin, and I'm an oncology nurse practitioner. If you're watching this, you or someone you care about, likely has been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and been prescribed ERLEADA, also known as apalutamide. ERLEADA is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and still responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone or that has not spread to other parts of the body, and no longer responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone. Please see the important safety information later on in the video.

Now, you may be feeling confused, worried. Maybe you're wondering, why do I need to take this now? What can I expect while taking ERLEADA? Let's walk through the basics together. That's why I'm here.

Your doctor has prescribed ERLEADA because it's been clinically proven to help some men live longer. It also helps lower PSA and your doctor wants the same for you.

About seven out of 10 patients who are alive on ERLEADA and ADT versus 5.5 out of 10 on ADT alone at follow-up.

And not only that, more than twice as many men achieved a zero PSA level.

It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed right now. What matters most is that you've already taken a meaningful step forward. Starting ERLEADA can help with your journey and your care team is here to support you every single step of the way. When you're ready, be sure to fill your prescription, and if you have questions or need anything, your healthcare team is just a phone call away. You're not alone in this.

We know everyone is different, and sometimes life can be unpredictable, and that's why with ERLEADA, you've got different dosing options so you can find what works best for you and your daily routine.

Prefer just one tablet of ERLEADA daily.? We've got you covered with a 240 milligram tablet once a day option. Rather have smaller pills? We have a 60 milligram option, four smaller tablets once a day in a rush. No time for breakfast, no problem. You can take ERLEADA with or without food.

If you have trouble swallowing tablets whole, there are alternate ways to take ERLEADA with non-carbonated water, orange juice or applesauce. ERLEADA can also be given through a feeding tube. Please follow the full instructions for use on how to take your prescribed dose of ERLEADA.

To help you get the most out of your treatment with ERLEADA, take ERLEADA exactly as your healthcare provider tells you. Do not stop taking your prescribed dose of ERLEADA without talking with your healthcare provider first. Take your prescribed dose of ERLEADA one time a day at the same time each day.

Now, onto what to expect while taking ERLEADA.

Now let's go over some safety information about ERLEADA.

Serious side effects include heart disease, stroke, or mini stroke, fractures, falls, seizures, severe skin reactions, and lung problems. To learn more about the most common side effects, take a look at the important safety information at the end of this video and be sure to talk with your healthcare team about any questions that you may have.

If you develop a severe rash or a rash that continues to get worse, stop taking ERLEADA and tell your healthcare provider. They may reduce your dose, temporarily stop or permanently stop your treatment.

Your healthcare provider can help you manage your rash. Of the patients in the study who did get a rash, 98% were able to stay on ERLEADA and 95% did not have their dose reduced.

It's important to know that these are not all the possible side effects of ERLEADA. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that bothers you or that don't go away. Your healthcare provider may reduce your dose temporarily or permanently stop treatment with ERLEADA if you have certain side effects. Call your doctor for medical advice about any side effects you may experience.

Today, we've gone over why your doctor prescribed ERLEADA, how to take it, and what to expect while you're on treatment.

(Erin)

Hi, I'm Erin, an oncology nurse practitioner, and today I'm here to talk to you about ERLEADA®. ERLEADA®, also known as Apalutamide, is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and still responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone, or that has not spread to other parts of the body and it no longer responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone. Please see important safety information later in the video.

In this video, we'll go over how to get your first ERLEADA® prescription filled and how to get it refilled afterwards. Starting and staying on therapy is important for your care. Taking the medicine as directed and communicating with your doctor may really help you get the most out of your treatment plan. Unlike other medications that you can pick up at your local pharmacy, ERLEADA®'s a specialty pharmacy medication. Specialty pharmacies carry medicines not available at retail pharmacies and may offer personalized support, education and insurance coordination.

Now let's walk through how to get your prescription filled. There are two ways you can receive your ERLEADA® prescription. First, if your doctor's office has a pharmacy on site, you may be able to pick up your prescription there. An in-office pharmacy may be considered a specialty pharmacy if it has medications for serious health conditions like cancer. If an in-office pharmacy is not available, your doctor's office will complete the necessary paperwork and submit it on your behalf to a specialty pharmacy. Insurance companies often require your prescription to be filled at a specialty pharmacy, but don't worry, your healthcare team will help you through this process. Oh, and remember, be sure to ask your doctor if there's any additional information you need to provide before you leave.

Your specialty pharmacy will be reaching out within 24 hours of receiving the prescription from your doctor. Please know your doctor might not send it right away, but if you don't hear back within a week, be sure to reach out to your doctor's office and remember, save your specialty pharmacy's contact information so you'll have it anytime you need it. As you're waiting to hear from your specialty pharmacy, please keep in mind that their call may come in as an unknown number or a number that you don't recognize. Remember, a specialty pharmacy cannot send your medicine unless they speak with you directly, so please be on the lookout for their call and then call them back if you missed it. Your 30 day ERLEADA® prescription bottle should arrive by mail within two weeks, and if it doesn't arrive, contact your specialty pharmacy or your doctor's office.

So how do you get your prescription refilled? Every month, you'll be contacted by your specialty pharmacy to coordinate your monthly refill. For more information about getting started on ERLEADA®, you can download the Getting Started guide found on the website. Now that you understand how you can have your ERLEADA® prescription filled, we hope it'll be smooth sailing from here on out, but if you need anything along the way, you can always reach out to your doctor's office and a member of your healthcare team may help.
